This great adventure has its source in the Democratic Republic of Congo , in the heart of Central Africa.
After two first successful trips in this vast and magnificent country, Maïté and her husband finally put down their suitcases in the capital, Kinshasa, in January 2016. On site, they take care of street children within the framework of the association. One love , which they founded in 2013 .
OUR STORY
The task is rapidly growing. The small residents of the " One love house " are more and more numerous, but the irregularity of the donations received by the association makes it difficult to cover the costs linked to their support. The countdown is on, however the solution is slow to appear. Maïté then decides to take literally the proverb according to which: "you are never better served than by yourself".
THREE YEARS LATER
Her approach is relevant, because it turns out that two of her friends, Nathalie, in UK and Gaëlle in France, are passionate, one of sewing, the other of drawing. In addition, the three young women share a certain interest in fashion and a common concern for the plight of destitute children, with a deep desire to help them. It is therefore quite natural that they join forces to create KIMIA collections®, a brand which alone reconciles their strengths and their ideals.
THE OUTCOME
"KIMIA" means "peace" in Lingala, a language spoken in the Democratic Republic of Congo, because we support projects that bear a future and hope for their beneficiaries.
